Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 11, 2026
Gym Brand Apparel ("we," "us," "our") operates the Quarter Turn mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control it.
Quarter Turn is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and account creation requires confirming you meet this requirement.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is never stored or seen by us directly — it's handled by our authentication provider (Supabase), which stores it in encrypted (hashed) form.
Profile information you choose to add. Your name, age, the division or divisions you compete in, the federation and date of your next show, and any goals or notes you write. It personalizes the app and, if you link to a coach, is visible to that coach.
Photos and video you capture. Quarter Turn's core feature is voice-guided posing practice, which captures photos and video of you through your device's camera. This media is stored in a private cloud storage bucket tied to your account. It is never public, never used for advertising, and never sold.
Practice session data. Which division and posing routine you practiced, when, for how long, and which poses you completed.
Coach-athlete data (only if you use Coach Mode or link to a coach). If you invite an athlete or accept a coach's invitation, an active link is created between your accounts. While that link is active, a coach can see the linked athlete's profile information, practice sessions, and captured media, and can leave feedback notes and assign routines. A coach may add one assistant coach to their roster, who can see the same coaching information (but not billing). An athlete can end the link at any time, which ends the coach's and any assistant coach's access to that athlete's data. We do not otherwise share your practice sessions, photos, or video with any other user.
Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a push notification token for your device, linked to your account, so we can send you reminders such as an upcoming assignment due date. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Error reports. If something goes wrong in the app (for example, a photo fails to save), the app sends us a short error report linked to your account: what failed, your app version, and your phone's operating system, brand, and model. We use these only to find and fix problems.
Payment information. Athlete purchases in the app are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to confirm what you have purchased; it receives your account identifier and your purchase status from the store. Coach plans are purchased on our website and processed by Stripe; Stripe receives your email address and payment details, and we store only a Stripe customer reference and your plan status. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
How we use this information
- To operate the core features of the app (posing guidance, capture, storage, playback).
- To enable Coach Mode features you've explicitly opted into (roster visibility, feedback, prep reports) — strictly limited to actively-linked accounts.
- To send reminders and notifications you've enabled.
- To find and fix problems using the error reports described above.
- To provide customer support if you contact us.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone, ever.
Where your data is stored and who handles it
Your account data, session records, and media are stored using Supabase, a cloud infrastructure provider, in a private database and private storage bucket accessible only to your account (and, where you've actively linked one, your coach and any assistant coach). We also use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, Stripe to process coach plan payments, Expo to deliver push notifications (it receives your device's notification token and the message), and Resend to send account and coach-invitation emails (it receives the email address and message being sent). These providers handle information only to provide their service to us. Quarter Turn contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking tools.
Your rights and choices
- Access. Your full session history, including all captured photos and video, is visible to you at any time within the app. If you're linked to a coach, they can export a PDF prep report covering your sessions.
- Revoke coach access. You can unlink from a coach at any time from within the app; this immediately ends their ability to see any new session data.
- Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (profile, sessions, photos/video, feedback) directly in the app — Settings → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by emailing us at [email protected]. Data deleted this way is removed immediately, except where we're required to retain limited records by law (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes).
- Correct or update. You can update your profile information from within the app's settings at any time.
If you are a California resident, these rights correspond to rights available to you under the CCPA. If you are in the EU/UK, these correspond to rights available to you under the GDPR/UK GDPR.
Camera and media permissions
Quarter Turn asks for camera access, and microphone access when you record video, because capturing your posing practice is its core function. If you keep the default setting, it may also ask permission to save copies of your captures to your phone's gallery; it only adds your own captures and does not read your other photos. We only use the camera and microphone while you're in a practice session. You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings, though doing so will prevent the app's core features from working.
Data retention
We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data as described above.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app before the changes take effect.
